About 100 Women Who Care

The first 100 Women Who Care chapter was started in November of 2006 by Karen Dunigan of Jackson, Michigan as a simple way to raise money efficiently and quickly for local charities. At their first one-hour meeting, the group of over 100 women each wrote a cheque for $100 directly to The Center for Family Health, their chosen local charity, raising $12,800 to buy 300 new baby cribs. Since then, chapters have formed all over the world.

The Story Behind Our Chapter

Our local Victoria group was founded in June 2014 when Miriam Byrne and Denise Grant asked Karen Allen, Nora Steves, Susan Bourjeaurd and Tami Tate to join them as the “Leading Ladies". Within three months they had gathered their friends and family and the first meeting was held on September 24, 2014. Hoping to reach their target of 100 members, they were astounded by the support of 140 women at the inaugural meeting. 140 members translated to $14,000 to the winning charity and from there the organization has continued to grow.

Who We Are Today

Now, with over 350 active members, we have contributed over $1 million to local Victoria charities. Our organizing committee is eight members strong, working together to ensure that our meetings are run efficiently and our impact in the community continues to grow. We are women who unite to create meaningful change for our local charities through the power of collective giving.

Join us to see just how much of a difference a roomful of women can make in one evening.
